# The shell is optional

Every task in Deplo, from the first deploy to a restore or a server upgrade, is done from the dashboard. You never need to know Docker, SSH or YAML to get full value out of it.

## Why it is different

Most self-hosted platforms assume the operator lives in a terminal and the panel is a convenience on top. Deplo is built the other way round: the panel is the product, and the shell is an escape hatch for experts, never a requirement.
